PRIVATE EVENT FAQ

Host Your Private Event at The Foodie School

Looking for a fun and memorable way to gather your group? Our private cooking classes are the perfect mix of hands-on learning, laughter, and delicious food. Whether it’s a team outing, birthday celebration, or just an excuse to get together, we’ll make it special.

 

Group Size: Ideal for 8–16 guests (larger groups may require a modified menu). Prefer to watch and sip? Ask about our demo-style classes (up to 30 guests).

The Experience: Roll up your sleeves and step into the kitchen with our chefs! You’ll cook a beautiful menu together, then relax and enjoy the meal you’ve created in our dining space.

Timing: We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes early to settle in. Classes run about 2 hours and start right on time so we can maximize the fun.

 

When to Book: Sundays (any time) and Monday evenings are most popular. Other days may be available if no public class is scheduled—ask us about buyouts (minimum 16).

Virtual Classes: Can’t make it in person? We offer virtual options, too!

Menus & Pricing: Choose from our curated menus or let our chefs dream up something just for your group. Pricing begins at $90/person and varies by menu.

What’s Included:

  • All ingredients for your chosen menu

  • Chef-led instruction and guidance

  • Aprons to use during class

  • Non-alcoholic beverages

  • Recipes emailed after class to keep the magic going at home

 

Bring Your Own Beverages: Wine or beer is welcome! We provide the glassware and openers.

 

Booking Made Easy: Simply email thefoodieschool@gmail.com with your date, time, menu choice, and estimated head count. We’ll send you a contract and payment link to lock in your event.

 

Payments & Gratuity: Full payment is required to reserve your date. A 20% gratuity for our assistants is added automatically. For larger groups (over 16) that require an additional chef, a $100 fee applies.

 

Final Details:

  • Final head count due 1 week before your event

  • Cancellations: 2 weeks for a refund, 1 week for future credit

  • Food restrictions must be shared at booking (menus can’t be adjusted last-minute, and our kitchen is not allergen-free)

  • Additional tips are always appreciated—cash or Venmo accepted

Class Topics

HOMEMADE PASTA & SAUCES

$90 per person - Hands On

If you haven’t got an Italian mamma to teach you how to make pasta at home, join us for a hands-on experience to learn the process! Making your own pasta is deeply satisfying, surprisingly easy, and the results are delicious. Students will learn the techniques for making basic pasta dough; using a pasta machine to roll and cut fettuccine and preparing pasta sauces. At the end of class, we’ll sit down to an Italian pasta feast. 

Spring/Summer Menu: Fettuccine with Cherry Tomato Sauce & Meatballs; Garlic Bread; and Lemon Olive Oil Cake. Salad will be served.

Fall/Winter Menu: Fettuccine with Vodka Sauce & Italian Sausage; Garlic Bread; and Tiramisu Cheesecake. Salad will be served.

FIVE STAR FAVORITES

$100 per person -  Hands On

Wouldn't you love to eat at a five star restaurant every night? We’ll show you how to make some of the classic five star restaurant dishes at home. You’ll be ready to polish the fine silver and layout the silk tablecloths for this menu! 

MENU: Garlic Asparagus; Truffled Potatoes; Steak au Poivre; and Cherries Jubilee.

 

SIZZLIN' SUMMER STEAKHOUSE

$100 per person -  Hands On

Get the grill out and create a fabulous steakhouse experience in the comfort of your own back yard. This class will teach you the techniques to get the perfect grill marks on your steak and flavors of the grill into your food. 

MENU: Garlicky Grilled Asparagus Spears; Smoky Potatoes; Charred Steak with Cherry Tomato Chimichurri; and Strawberry Cheesecake. 

SEXY STEAKHOUSE

$100 per person -  Hands On

The steakhouse can be a place to spark your romance. The food you learn in this class will teach you how to recreate the experience at your favorite romantic spot in the comfort of your own abode!

MENU: Juicy Asparagus; Fiery Heart Potatoes; Sizzlin' Steak with Luscious Red Wine Sauce; Be Still My Heart Cakes (Red Velvet).

DINNER FROM A MOVIE

$90 per person - Hands On

Do you get inspired to cook when you see a great foodie movie? Join us at The Foodie School! as we recreate the menu from your favorite foodie movie. 

 

 “IT'S COMPLICATED”: MENU: Jane’s Garden Salad; Roasted Potatoes; Croque Monsieur; Late Night Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding. 

“JULIE & JULIA” MENU: Roasted Asparagus with Maitre d’hotel Butter; Duchesse Potatoes; Sauteed Chicken Paillard; Chocolate Silk Pie. 

GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT: G.R.I.T.S.

$90 per person - Hands On​

Can't live up to your grandma's legend in the kitchen? This class will teach you how to master the southern classics and give them a modern spin. Now you'll be the one that the next generation will look up to! 

MENU: Buttery Biscuits; Memaw’s Mac & Cheese; Perfect Fried Chicken; Cucumber Onion Salad; and Red Velvet Cupcakes.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT: SNACKS IN THE CITY

$90 per person - Hands On​

Want to feel like you're out on the town in the Big Apple, but don't want to pay for airfare? Step into the Manolo Blahniks of NYC girls and eat food that will make you feel like you're worth a $million pre-nup. Learn how to make this food, and no one will ever dump you on a Post-It! 

MENU: Charlotte’s Caesar Salad; Petrovsky’s Potatoes with Bleu Cheese Sauce; Samantha’s Drunken Skirt Steak; and Miranda’s Chocolate Cake.

BRUNCH IT UP!

$90 per person - Hands On

Don’t spend an hour waiting for a table at your favorite brunch joint, get right in at The Foodie School! We’ll be cooking up your favorite elements of brunch in this class: biscuits, bacon, and booze. You’ll be bragging to your friends that your new favorite brunch joint is your own kitchen.

MENU: Mimosa Salad; Smoked Salmon Frittata with Savory Herb Scones; French Toast Bread Pudding.

$90 per Person - Hands On​

 

GREEK MENU: Greek Salad; Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce and Homemade Pitas; Baklava.

 

MEXICAN MENU: Homemade Guacamole; Mexican Rice; Street Corn; Carne Asada; Churros. 

 

SPANISH MENU: Roasted Mini Potatoes with Romesco Sauce; Citrus Olive Salad; Gambas alla Plancha; and Churros with Spicy Chocolate Sauce. 

INDIAN MENU: Garlic Naan with Dipping Sauces; Saag (Sautéed Spinach); Basmati Rice Pilaf; Chicken Tikka Masala; and Kheer (Rice Pudding) with Pistachios and Dried Fruit.
