Service Description

Ready to become a more confident baker? This 6-week hands-on series is designed to build your skills from the ground up, one technique at a time. Each class focuses on essential baking methods and foundational recipes that every home baker should know, with each week building on the last. You'll learn not just how to follow a recipe, but why baking works—from mixing methods and ingredient functions to proper techniques that lead to consistently successful results. Along the way, you'll gain confidence working with a variety of doughs, batters, pastries, and desserts while developing the skills to tackle new recipes on your own. Whether you're looking to sharpen your baking abilities or finally master the fundamentals you've always wanted to learn, this series is the perfect place to start. Come prepared to mix, whisk, roll, bake, and taste your way through six weeks of delicious learning. This series is designed as a progressive course, so enrollment includes all six sessions. Week 1: 9/5 - Cookie Mixing Methods, Biscuits and Quickbreads Week 2: 9/12 - Pie Dough Methods, Fillings, and Shortcrust Pastry Week 3: 9/19 - Pate a Choux, Creme Patissiere, Ganache, Cake Mixing Methods Week 4: 9/26 - Meringue Methods, Swiss Buttercream, Caramel Week 5: 10/3 - Yeast Breads, Fill/Crumb Coat Cake Week 6: 10/10 - Laminated Dough, Ice & Decorate Cake CLASS TIME: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, each Saturday. BYOB: We're a BYOB venue! If you'd like to pick up some beer or wine on your way, we're conveniently close to a few stores. State Line Liquor Store is right before the turn to Springhill Farm Rd if you're coming from Pineville Matthews Rd, and Frugal MacDougal's is right before the turn to Springhill Farm Rd if you're coming from I-77. Glassware and openers are provided free of charge! 1 WEEK NOTICE: Full refund or future class credit. (ALL VALENTINE'S CLASSES AND CAMPS ARE 2 WEEK NOTICE TO RECEIVE REFUND) 72 HOURS NOTICE: You may receive a future class credit that may only be rescheduled once. If you cannot make the new class, you may give your seat to someone else to attend in your place, but no further credit will be issued. LESS THAN 72 HOURS NOTICE: You may give your seat to someone to attend in your place, but no credit will be given. Please just have your stand-in give your name at the door. NO SHOW: If you do not call or e-mail prior to the class, no refund or credit will be given. Please remember that the classes are events like a concert or a play, not an appointment to be rescheduled.
