Service Description

Your sourdough starter can do so much more than make a loaf of bread! In this hands-on baking class, we’re putting sourdough discard to delicious use with three very different bakes that prove those starter leftovers deserve a permanent place in your kitchen. You’ll explore how sourdough discard can add flavor, tenderness, and complexity to both sweet and savory recipes, while learning practical ways to incorporate it into your everyday baking. We’ll tackle a cozy pumpkin quickbread swirled with cream cheese, a rosemary and garlic hybrid focaccia that combines the flavor of sourdough with a more approachable baking method, and a batch of rich brown butter chocolate chip cookies. MENU: Pumpkin & Cream Cheese Quickbread, Hybrid Focaccia w. Rosemary & Garlic, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. Along the way, you’ll learn more about working with sourdough discard, what it contributes to different types of bakes, and how to turn something you might otherwise toss into seriously good food. Whether you’re already tending a sourdough starter or looking for more ways to put yours to work, come ready to bake, learn, and discover just how versatile your discard can be! Menu Contains: Wheat, Milk, Eggs. Menu cannot be made gluten free. CLASS TIME: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM BYOB: We're a BYOB venue!
